TOMORROW'S

SUCCESS

STARTS  WITH

TODAY’S

LESSONS

DOJO does not emphasize the sport or competition aspects of Jiu Jitsu and martial arts.  Instead, we seek a return to the traditional values of Jiu Jitsu and martial arts. Those values—instilled over time between instructor and pupil—include:  respect, humility, loyalty, friendship, and of course, self-defense.

DOJO is dedicated to reviving the traditional values of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and martial arts. These values—developed over time through the connection between instructor and student—include respect, humility, loyalty, friendship, and, above all, self-defense.

Our mission is to make a positive impact on the next generation of Jiu Jitsu students. We believe that the lessons learned on the mats extend far beyond training, empowering students to excel in all aspects of their lives.

LITTLES AGES 4-6

Our LITTLES Program introduces children to the gentle art of Jiu Jitsu. Students learn the basic positions and techniques of Jiu Jitsu including guard, mount, and the hip escape.

A DOJO parent can expect their child to:

  • Build self-confidence and self-awareness

  • Learn self-defense and anti-bullying techniques

  • Exercise and gain balance, coordination, and motor skills

  • Practice respect, humility, communication, and loyalty with instructors and peers

  • Develop critical social and life skills through interaction in a supportive peer group

Program Emphasis:

  • Develop gross motor skills and balance by learning core Jiu Jitsu techniques and positions

  • Practice respect for instructors and classmates

  • Develop listening skills

  • Students are encouraged to make friends, have fun through Jiu Jitsu influenced games, and grow their passion for the art and sport of Jiu Jitsu.

YOUTH AGES 7-12

Our YOUTH Program introduces students to all of the fundamental positions in Jiu Jitsu - Stand-up, Guard, Side Control, Mount Control, and Back Control.  An emphasis is put on how to piece together several concepts of Jiu Jitsu in order to advance a position.  As students progress through the curriculum, more advanced techniques like specialized guards and more dynamic guard passes are introduced.

A DOJO parent can expect their child to:

  • Build self-confidence and self-awareness

  • Learn self-defense and anti-bullying techniques

  • Exercise and gain balance, coordination, and motor skills

  • Practice respect, humility, communication, and loyalty with instructors and peers

  • Develop critical social and life skills through interaction in a supportive peer group

Program Emphasis:

  • In addition to basic Jiu Jitsu positions, students learn side control, back control, and more importantly, escapes and reversals.

  • Students are introduced to basic submissions such as arm locks.

  • In this age group, students develop left & right symmetry, gross and fine motor skills, flexibility, and fundamental Jiu Jitsu and self-defense strategy.

  • Students continue their social development, have fun playing Jiu Jitsu-related games, and learn basic physical fitness.

As Students become more experienced, they learn more advanced submissions, self-defense and anti-bullying (including proper verbal self-defense, avoidance, and de-escalation) techniques. Submissions include the triangle submission, kimuras, and chokes.  Students will continue to refine their techniques, working on subtle fine motor skills, body awareness, weight distribution, and breath control.

TEEN AGES 12-15

Our Teens Program is designed to build upon the foundation established in our Youth Program while introducing a faster pace and heightened expectations. This program is tailored to meet the needs of teenagers as they develop greater independence, discipline, and resilience both on and off the mats.

In the Teens Program, we encourage students to embrace challenges, step out of their comfort zones, and cultivate a growth mindset. Classes are structured to push physical and mental boundaries, helping teens develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and the ability to persevere under pressure.

With a focus on personal accountability and commitment, the program emphasizes the values of respect, teamwork, and humility while continuing to refine essential self-defense and Jiu Jitsu techniques. Our ultimate goal is to help teens become well-rounded individuals who are prepared to face life's challenges with strength and determination.

YOUTH COMPETITION TRAINING

Our Competition program is specifically designed to prepare students who are interested in testing their skills in a competitive environment. Through this program, participants are introduced to the complexities and nuances of competition, including strategy, mental preparation, and the technical adjustments needed for success in high-pressure scenarios.

This is a high-intensity program that challenges students to push their physical and mental limits. Due to the demanding nature of this training, participation is reserved for those who demonstrate the necessary commitment, skill, and attitude. Instructor approval is required to ensure that each student is ready to meet the program's rigorous standards and is prepared to benefit fully from the experience.

The ultimate goal of the program is not only to enhance performance in competition but also to foster discipline, resilience, and the ability to adapt—all valuable skills that extend far beyond the mats.
